MOTION + AI ■ GOD OF SCIENCE

GOD OF SCIENCE

CHALLENGE

Create a cinematic proof-of-concept that introduces a futuristic forensic detective, blending sci-fi noir with grounded realism. The goal was to explore how AI-generated visuals could be shaped into a compelling first shot that establishes character, tone, and worldbuilding without relying on traditional VFX pipelines.

ROLE: Director/Motion Designer

TOOLS: Kling AI, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects

PROCESS

I began by developing the detective’s look — inspired by Blade Runner noir aesthetics with Egyptian-inspired motifs — using MidJourney for initial concept design. I refined the character with multiple iterations to balance futuristic details (glowing seams, smart glasses, utility belt) against gritty realism. Using Kling AI for motion tests, I generated a first moving shot, then enhanced it in After Effects with cinematic color grading and subtle atmosphere to match a dramatic opening sequence. This iterative process combined AI image generation, motion testing, and post-production to create a visually cohesive world.

RESULTS

The result is a motion-tested opening shot that introduces the forensic detective as a striking protagonist — an Idris Elba–like figure grounded in realism yet enhanced with sci-fi detail. This piece demonstrates how AI workflows (MidJourney, Kling, After Effects) can create polished, cinematic story moments quickly, serving as both a portfolio showcase and an early proof-of-concept for expanding the project into a short film.
